Hi,
I, like most bloggers, use Google Analytics (Analytics) to track visitors to my site. This data is tracked using Javascript and cookies. The data that Analytics gathers and interests me includes:
- How you came to my site (did you enter the URL or did you search for something);
- What search terms were used to find the site;
- The country that you live in, in certain cases this is brought down to city level;
- How long you spent on the site and which page you left the site from.
I will not sell or give away your data. But if you are interested in finding out more about data tracking you can check out Google Analytics Privacy Policy. If you don’t want me (or anyone else who uses Google Analytics) to be able to see this data you can install this plugin to disable Google Analytics.
When you comment you need to leave an e-mail address. This address belongs to you and I won’t give it away or sell it, or otherwise part ways with it. I hate spam too.
I haven’t decided on a comment policy yet but it is probably along the lines of you can say what you like unless it is mean or ill-spirited. Your right to freedom of speech does not extend an obligation to me to provide a platform for you to do so.
Of course, this privacy policy comes with the caveat that in the incredibly unlikely circumstance that a court orders me to hand over the data I’ll do so.
I appreciate you stopping by, and if you have any questions, let me know.
Love and legality,
Trisha
